Unique and tasty Dutch cheese with holes
Leerdammer is the wholly Dutch (or should we say the hole-y Dutch?) natural, tasty cheese. It’s made in a unique way which gives it its awesome flavour – smooth and nutty, mellow and creamy. Find out more about our special Leerdammer recipe.
Extra-convenient
Ready-sliced, semi-hard Leerdammer sliced cheese is handy as well as tasty. We love it as a sandwich filling or as a quick snack straight from the fridge. Mmm! Find more brilliant sandwich filling ideas here.
Nutritious too
Leerdammer is real cheese, so it’s naturally high in calcium and protein…there’s 24 % of your daily calcium needs in each slice2. Vegetarian cheese, lactose-free cheese, of course it’s additive free, and fine to eat if you’re pregnant (as it’s made from pasteurised milk.) Check out our health and wellbeing section here.
What does the ‘Leerdammer free-grazing promise’1 mean?
In short, it means we want the best for our cows. There’s no such official term for ‘free-range cheese’ but for us, free-grazing means that cows get to enjoy the great outdoors and graze on Dutch pastures for a minimum of 6 hours, for 120 days a year, from the spring to autumn. In winter, and at some other times, a cosy shed or stable is more comfortable for them. Find out more here about our free-grazing promise here.
Enjoy some Leerdammer, the delicious, Dutch, yellow cheese with holes today.
